Can someone help me translate something into Japanese?I don't want to say it in the wrong order.  by SarahBatman   31. Jul 2015   Japanese

I'm not entirely new to Japanese but I'm not the best at sentance structure yet. I really don't want to say this wrong, so if possible can someone please help me with how to say "You're important to me." and/or "You're an important person in my life." in Romaji please? I would be very grateful to you!

How do you use asimismo?  by foxluv   2. Sept 2009   Spanish

Request: Can anyone give me an example for the usage of asimismo?  My Spanish teacher says not to use this word and won't say why.  My partner at work says he hasn't heard it used in everyday speaking and he is fluent in Spanish.  Both say to use igualmente.  Now I am afraid to use the spanish english dictionary because that is where I found
this word and both words mean the same thing, I think.

List-Making  by malaili2   30. May 2014   Chinese

Is there a easy/simple way to do this?

Manche Hunde rennen einem einfach hinterher.  by peterkentt   18. Jul 2014   German

Hi, everyone!
I'm new here and don't know if this is the right place to ask help for translations. But I've got stuck at the sentence above. It is in a section of a grammar where the autor explains the german word "man": Hier muss man Hunde an die Leine nehmen.
He tells that "man" is just in Nominativ. Akkusativ, einen; Dativ, einem.
Then follows the sentence: Manche Hunde rennen einem einfach hinterher.

Can anybody, please, help with its meaning???
Thanks in advance!

The Daily Exercise Counter  by katsa   15. Jul 2014   Chinese

I like the "Daily Exercise" counter a lot because it motivates me to repeat words, but right now, it is not working too well for me:
It just adds 0,4 to 0,5% per word looked at / answer given (i'm doing writing exercise only)

This way, I get 0,8-1,0% per word, which means, I am done after about 100-125 words.

The amount of words in my list, however, is at 6500.
Even if I could answer them all well enough to put them back for 30 days,
I would still need to repeat about 217 words to keep my queue at a constant level.
Putting back for only 14 days would even increase the number of words needed per days.

Could the "daily Exercise"-counter include a calculator to count how many words my main list has, and how big an impact a single answer thus has?

Correct translation/French  by Glat64   8. Jul 2014   French

"Son travail est si stressant qu'il a commencé à avoir des cheveux gris dès trente ans."
"His work is so stressful that he got gray hair when he was thirty."

Is the above French sentence correct ? Because I can't find one example of the use of "dès" in this manner. Shouldn't it be more like... Quand il avait deux ans/ A deux ans./ A l'âge de deux ans.

What is the source of these translations as well ? Does anyone know please ?

English translations  by malaili2   14. May 2014   Chinese

Is it just me, or are the English translations given for the daily sentences a little bit off lately?

"Goodbye! I will be missing you!"

"How about I will miss you!"?

Would this help  by malaili2   26. Apr 2014   Chinese

When I am looking at a list's words in "show words" mode, I almost always look to see if there is/are corresponding sentences.

I do this and when I don't find an associated sentence to further enhance my learning, I feel I have wasted my time.

If there was a dot or something displayed, indicating a sentence, it be a big help?

Does anyone else do this and find the lack of a sentence an unnecessary time expenditure?

Auto Details  by malaili2   24. Apr 2014   Chinese

When you give us a sentence, at least in browser mode, we can mouse-over a word and get the definition. It's fantastic!

Could/would it be possible to do the same when we are viewing a word?

I began to study a new list of words, and I came across 气氛, I remembered 气 meant or had something to do with air, but I had no idea about the meaning of 氛。

To see the meaning, I had to click on details and then scroll down to see the definition.

If we were to mouse-over the word when shown in the
" [Show Words]" mode, it would be a huge huge benefit.

My Dear Sirs, even though, I am continually asking for features,
I am very very pleased with you site. I am only voicing an opinion and a sincere interest in making things better. (in my opinion)

Convenience anyone?  by malaili2   21. Apr 2014   Chinese

When I receive my "A Daily Chinese Word," I open it and read it with great interest, and I especially like the related words.

Having to click on the details for each related word, and then having to click on the PLAY button to hear the pronunciation, and then having to hit the back button to see the next word, is a little tiring/annoying.

I wish the future would bring us an easier method, i.e. having the play button(s) on the 1st page with each of the words.

That would be awesome and much much more convenient.

Speaking of wishes, I wish your business growth and success!

Partizip Perfekt and Präteritum of the Verbs  by kash.manchan   10. Jul 2013   German

I am kind of new to this website and I must say I really like it. I usually make my own flash cards and a vocabulary book but I think this is good whenever I have internet.

As someone who is learning German I find the Präteritum and Partizip Perfekt for strong and mixed verbs quite hard to remember. May be mentioning them that with the verbs would be great.
Something like: gehen-ging-gegangen, bringen-brachte-gebracht usw.

I read the discussion/suggestion on "Articles (der/die/das)" and now it's much easier to learn the nouns with their corresponding genders. Hopefully you'd take this suggestion also into consideration.

Cheers!

Items not being reviewed  by malaili2   18. Apr 2014   Chinese

I opened a list 2-9e, and began to review the words, since I hadn't reviewed them for a couple of hours.

I was only able to review 5 items, before being told there were no more words in the loop or the que.

How is that possible? I never mark a word in queue more than one hour. When I looked up the words, it said they were last due 2 and 3 hours ago respectively, so each word should have been able to be reviewed.

Lastly, I can't figure out how to determine when a word in the loop is scheduled for review. I am sure you told me once before, but I have forgotten.

If I am doing or not doing something, please let me know.

Is there a way to bypass list queues?  by malaili2   27. Mar 2014   Chinese

If I have a diction test coming up, and I want to study all the words in specific lists, and do not want to skip any words that may not be due for review now or before the test, how can I call up the words that have long queues and how do I find out which words have long queues?

Additionally, if a word appears in different lists, and I mark it for review in 14 days, in one list, will that also be reflected in other list(s)?

Making a list  by malaili2   20. Mar 2014   Chinese

I know there 6 levels of HSK tests.

Does anyone know how Chinese-Course.com's HSK levels compare or break down with the words from each of the 6 HSK exams.

I know HSK 3 requires knowledge of 600 words, and HSK 4's vocabulary contains 1200 words.

I want to begin studying the vocabulary (1200) words for HSK 4, using Chinese-Course.com.

SPACED REPETITION  by malaili2   19. Mar 2014   Chinese

With the time interval set for each of the 12 buttons, including the remove button, do I have to select the time interval I want to review the word, or can it be set to default to the next higher (longer) review interval?

To me, that would be ideal, and it could be overridden, if a shorter review cycle was required.

Something, like return moves it to the next review level, unless a specific time interval (a button) was selected.

I hope, this is not just wishful thinking.

If anyone knows, please let me know what I can or not do.

Reviews  by malaili2   18. Mar 2014   Chinese

Is anyone interested in having the ability to study lists and be able to assign a review time/date for the respective words, like we can for the main list.

I have begun creating individual lists for the chapters in my textbook, and need to review them, but I don't want to spend too much time reviewing words I already know, hence wanting the ability to assign a appropriate time to review said words.

We can do that for words in the main list, but cannot for individual lists.

I'd appreciate hearing your thought pro and con.

More transparency please  by hikariuk   8. Aug 2010   French

This is a great web site and almost perfect for my study. I'm much appreciated for the creation and I love it.

But my only concern is, who is in charge of all of this page? No names, no recent announcements, the last update on Twitter was nearly a year ago.
It is kind of scary if I don't know who I am paying for, especially when it comes to continuous subscription and credit card involvement.

Could you improve on that? Then I think I'll upgrade my account. Thank you.
