Is there a way to bypass list queues?  by malaili2   27. Mar 2014

If I have a diction test coming up, and I want to study all the words in specific lists, and do not want to skip any words that may not be due for review now or before the test, how can I call up the words that have long queues and how do I find out which words have long queues?

Additionally, if a word appears in different lists, and I mark it for review in 14 days, in one list, will that also be reflected in other list(s)?

You can see the order of the queue by clicking [Show] next to "Words in Queue" on the right when you practice words:

Words in Queue: 1841 [Show]

The lists do not influence each other, so marking one word for review in 14 days won't impact the other list.

Thank U very much.

Is there a way to manipulate the "due time," so that I can review the words not yet due? I'm looking to review them in the loop, i.e. one by one, even though they might not be due for several days or even a week or two?

Yes in the Active Word List box in the navigation is a link called "Show Words of List", where you can review all words in your list, whether they are due or not.

Thank you.

I was aware of that, but that doesn't test me, it just show me.

I want to be tested for my knowledge, i.e. get the words in the loop and review them there.

I guess that isn't possible, once a word is in queue, it stays there until it is due; much to my chagrin.

I think, using the information you supplied, I can do a work-around, by making a "NEW" list from the existing lists I need to study that will contain the words that are not or will not be due before my exam, and be able to review them via the loop.

I think it will work.

Yes, making a new list is the best option.

I have a list, and a few of the words, are in the loop, how do I find out when these words will be reviewed.

I went to the words in que, but there are no words in que, so I don't have any idea when these words, in the loop, will be reviewed.

Can you help?

I think I just figured it out, I went to words in the loop, and selected, 5 minutes, and it says the word(s will be due in 5 minutes.

Sorry to bother you.

OK great.

Unfortunately, that only worked for one of the words, the other words are still in the loop.

I am going to try the same thing again, see what happens.

What is the difference between words in the loop and words in queue?
oliver   13. Apr 2014

Queued Words you don't see, only words in the loop.
malaili2   13. Apr 2014

That didn't work, the words never came up in queue, they are still in the loop.

How can I find out how long it will be before the words in the loop will show up for review?

I want to study them before my test, but don't want to have to make a new list, if they will show up before morning.

Making a new list, will solve the problem, but it will add more lists, which could easily get out of hand.

You cycle through loop words, so clicking the loop button will show them soon. To see them earlier avoid clicking the time buttons because this will introduce new words into the loop.

Thank you.

It tells "No more words left in your loop and queue, come back later or add more words to this list," but when I look at the word(s) themselves, it says in the loop.

I have given up on trying to figure this out, I deleted the list, and made a new one, and all the words were in the loop, and I was able to review them to my heart's content.
oliver   14. Apr 2014

Now I can't have a look because you deleted it. Let me know this happens next time.
malaili2   14. Apr 2014

O.K. sorry.

Work Around

When faced with wanting to review a list of words, but some of them are not due, if you edit the list, i.e. make the list type to simple, then all words will appear in the loop and you can review until your heart's content, or you could even change the list type to advanced and proceed as you wish.

This eliminates having to make new lists..
