Partizip Perfekt and Präteritum of the Verbs by kash.manchan 10. Jul 2013
I am kind of new to this website and I must say I really like it. I usually make my own flash cards and a vocabulary book but I think this is good whenever I have internet.
As someone who is learning German I find the Präteritum and Partizip Perfekt for strong and mixed verbs quite hard to remember. May be mentioning them that with the verbs would be great.
Something like: gehen-ging-gegangen, bringen-brachte-gebracht usw.
I read the discussion/suggestion on "Articles (der/die/das)" and now it's much easier to learn the nouns with their corresponding genders. Hopefully you'd take this suggestion also into consideration.

It's a good idea, but with thousands of verbs it's a lot of work! | firewall 20. Apr 2014
Hi admin, you can start to put the 3 forms (ex: gehen-ging-gegangen) only for around 200 irregular verbs which are more common.
The other are usualy combinations with diffrent particles. And you can ignore that verbs. Let's take an example: "hin" with this verb:
Ex: hingehen - ging hin - hingegangen
For the start, I believe you don't have time to put all 3 formes for this verb (e.i. hingehen - the above example) but only to add the other related verb to the cathegory: "Additional Related Words".
So, for the verb "hingehen" you have to add "gehen-ging-gegangen" to the "Additional Related Words" cathegory. That's all the work. The student will know this way that "hingehen" is an irregular verb and follows the verb "gehen" conjugation. | Forum Index |
