Request: Can anyone give me an example for the usage of asimismo? My Spanish teacher says not to use this word and won't say why. My partner at work says he hasn't heard it used in everyday speaking and he is fluent in Spanish. Both say to use igualmente. Now I am afraid to use the spanish english dictionary because that is where I found
this word and both words mean the same thing, I think.

I hear it all the time in the Dominican Republic. My bf is Dominican, and I've done mission work there. Its used a lot of ways, to say igualmente, "eso es" is the same, "asi mismo" like: exactly, or just like that. For example, if I'm telling someone a story then they ask to clarify it, and they restate it correctly I would say, "exacto, asi mismo manito". jaja |

Casi siempre "asimismo" (todo junto) se puede sustituir por "también". Así es más fácil de recordar. |
