Idea: Have a memory/match cards game where the user can choose which two languages to use. If you have all the cards duplicated such that one set starts with "a"+"card number" and the other set with "b" + "card number", then if I choose German to Japanese, it can grab "set a" German and "set b" Japanese. Then, if I want to do French to Japanese, it could just swap out set a German and put in French set a. Or, if I switch to German to French from the Japanese, it would instead use set b of French and keep set a of German. Just a thought. I have this set up on my own website, but it is text only. It would be very cool if you could figure out how to do audio memory cards to text. My programming skills are crap. | number of words to study? by Paja 3. Nov 2015 Spanish Hi there, I like a lot of the changes you have made lately. Having the "menu" button makes the choices very clean and easy. However, it seems you have also taken off the number of words that are in the list and the number to be reviewed that day. I really like that feature. I also can't see how many times I have seen the word before. That isn't necessarily bad - it can be pretty discouraging to see that you have seen the word a LOT of times before and still don't know it, but it can also be good if you realize that you are now learning new words with fewer repetitions. Nov 2015 German I have logged in, like every night, to do my German exercises, and I've noticed another change: notes have been eliminated from single word pages and put in a separate part, called "Card Notes". Now, when I want to check my lists, for every word I have to click on the "Card Notes" button. Since I review about 400 words every day, that means a lot more time to go over them. Why the change? | Learning German and nursing by legrider135 9. May 2011 German I am currently trying to learn German so I can work as a nurse in a German speaking country. I was wondering what is the best country to practice nursing in, and what is the scope of nursing in the different German-speaking countries? I have herd that in Germany nurses basically just takes care of the patient much like a mother would do to her child. With this kind of scope I would like to practice elsewhere, but I hope someone can clarify the situation for me. | What about adding a Go to Page function in Words by Level lists? by stefano1488 18. In order to add new words I often browse "Words by level" lists and add them. I was wondering: would it be possible to add a "Go to page" function, instead of just going to the next page? Jun 2015 German Today I have found that the window which allows me to choose in how many days I want the word to be shown again can appear above or below the word, so I have to move up or down the vertical bar in order to see the option I want to select. I do appreciate your efforts to improve the site, but...could you please stop making changes, ANY changes, for at least a year? | Unwanted changes by LisaG 8. May 2015 Thai Is anyone else having problems with the new changes to the website? Everything keeps disappearing, I'm guessing in an effort to make the website look more "simple." They recently took off the related words and example sentences section that shows after each flash card. This is where I got all of my new vocabulary words from and was really helpful.... I do not understand the reasoning behind takin this away. I also do not like how the sidebar disappears when I use the flashcards because sometimes I like looking up words real quickly and am now unable to do so... I also do not like how they simplified the buttons to show again and show again in one day. I like how they used to have all of the options immediately available. I cannot use the shortcuts because I do all of my work on an ipad so this requires I take an additional step and slows everything down. The time indicator, 明天 , precedes 是, but I thought it is supposed to precede 希望 also? I would never be able to write this sentence with the correct word order. | Suggestion for possible new consultation features, hopefully useful by stefano1488 18. Aug 2015 German Hello. At the moment, when consulting word lists and choosing the "Show Words of List" option, it is possible to have them ordered by three criteria: "Date added", "Last Shown" and "Total Shown". For me (I'm learning German), it would be useful if it were possible to order them by two additional criteria: "Alphabetical Order" and "Next Due". The first criterion would be useful because it would help me remember differences between similar words. The second one would be useful, in my opinion, because it would help one get ahead with words that are going to be shown within a few days, while not yet in the loop or in the queue.
