Ability to Make Lists by Zedi 7. Nov 2007
I would really like to be able to make my own lists of words on the site. I have learned several languages, and I've always found it much easier to expand my vocabulary by learning groups of related words at the same time,e.g lists of common verbs, colours, words to do with time, useful words for travellers, foods & eating at restaurants, etc.
It would probably be a lot of extra work for you, I'm sorry, but I think many others would share my views. Is there any chance you could add this function to the site? |

You mean you want to add your own words which haven't been added to the site or you want to group existing words? |

You can't add your own words (yet). One user showed interested in that though. |

How about this: users add words to the database. New words have an acceptance period wherein other users can report mistakes and they can be ammended. In this way, the database would grow very quickly without a lot of hardwork required from admin. I have no idea how this whole thing works to be honest, but I'd love to see this site grow to the point where i can find almost any word.

Not sure if thats a good idea. But people can suggest a word, see link on Homepage "suggest a word". Also if you search for words and they couldn't be found they will be added in most cases. |

I think people have misunderstood what I asked for-I was only talking about existing words already on the site. It would be much easier to learn if I could arrange them in groups to suit me. The only way to group words at the moment is by the date when you want to see them again. I would like to have a choice. |

i understand what Zedi means, and i agree. I had about 40 words in the "your words" area, and i wanted to pick one of them, but i had to look through every-single word to find it. i couldnt just search for it and open the stroke order, i had to look at all of the words on my list to find it. that was annoying, so i just erased my entire list, and chose one at a time. If we could just group our words, or if the words where in alphabetical order (based on pin yin.) |
