Please can you explain the difference between rue-juk and saap, and when they are used. many thanks. Trevor

sahp (ซาบ) is used more on formal conversations, like when saying I don't know (ไม่ซาบ) though it literally means to be absorbed fast; roo-juk (รู้จัก) is more used on informal conversations

roo-jak has a similar meaning to "to be familar or aquainted with". So it is used with people who you know or have met. You ca also use with areas of knowledge, that you are aquainted with. Saab is a fairly formal word which has the same meaning as to know in English, when it refers to possesion of knowledge or experience. The common word for thos in Thai is just "roo" and not roo-jak
