El evento es organizado por la federación de deportes.

The above sentence came up in my practice sesion.

I realise that ser is used for events location but I think that in this case it should be ..'esta organisado'...as this is the usual auxiliary verb with a past participle formula.

Any clarification would be welcome.

I think I may have the answer to this as on lokking again I can see that it is the passive voice which is formed bu using Ser and the past partiple.
