beginner's spanish (latin american) by ida warner is a very good book, i love it and found it in the library and have had it for almost 6 months now. it great |

My wife and I have been using Dorothy Richmond's books as a supplement to our class. We think they're great. In addition to the book on verbs mentioned in another response, she also has one on pronouns and one on Vocabulary. |

Try "1001 most useful Spanish words"...not as basic text but to see a variety of sentence structures. Each word has an example with an English translation of the sentence so you see a lot of word order and learn a lot of vocabulary beyond the 1001 words. |
