Korean Sites  by allibrownie   7. Mar 2010

안녕하세요. ^^ I'm Allison. I'm a 13 year old girl that is very interested in the Korean language and I'm forced to teach myself. I don't even know a Korean person outside of the computer. I've asked my online Korean friends to teach me but they don't have the time to. :/ My family is kind of poor so I can't buy any books and stuff so the internet is my only option. I need some sites that will help me learn Korean and some study tips that can help me learn the language. Thank you for your answers in advance. ^^

I know that site![ koreanclass101.com] but I haven't taking the lesson though. Even though they send me an email, I am too lazy! haha. But I thought that that site is only for you when you are listening to people talk....I didn't know that they teach you how to write in it too....

Oh yah, I've been teaching myself with free online resources too. I found a bunch of great sites, and have been writing about them on my blog. It takes a lot of time to find really helpful websites, and most of them are only good in some areas, but have blind spots in others. That's why I decided to share what I've been finding so that I could help make it easier for other people like me. Here's the link: http://stircrazyinternational.wordpress.com/category/korea-2/learn-korean/ You may notice that there's nothing about grammar posted yet, but I found an awesome website for learning Korean grammar and will be posting about it on my blog soon, so please check back! I hope you'll find it really helpful! ^_^

Personally, I didn't like Korean Class 101 very much so I haven't been using it. I've never heard of Talk To Me In Korean, but it sounds cool so I'll check it out! Thanks!

Hey, Koreanclass101 limits what you can do because of money after a while. I just started teaching myself aswell and im 18 hehe. To get more listening comprehension I found a few people who are from korea that want to help others learn aswell. Ever4one is the main guy who can link you to so many other people through his youtube page. It's excellent for new words and sentences if you pay very close attention. Also if you want to see/learn about places around Korea, and possibly a little culture and history there are people like qiranger on youtube. These people are really hard to find so search alot. There are a ton of random websites that have basically just writing and no speaking of the language but youtube can definately help and if you can make a pen pal or just find a friend to talk to in korean (preferably someone who is korean AND a friend who wants to learn just like you that you can speak with daily to say basic words with like "an nyung" or "jal meogessesumida" ) Me and my sister want to learn and speak with one another with random korean and japanese.. LOL I actually mix the two so much I call it Kopanese. But what it does is get you in the habit of using the words more and speaking. Speak to your family using basic greeting and stuff. You sort of have to live and breathe it sometimes in order to learn quickly and remember what you're learning. I dont have very much money either so I'm going to Barnes and Noble and taking notes from their books, I hope they dont yell at me. ehheheh. ok I feel like im writing too much so ill say one last thing about tips for learning that I am in the process of doing. I am creating a study Guide for myself, which is basically like taking notes but making it more organized so you could return to it and relearn what you may without getting lost in your notes. Plus its a way that you could effectively share what you've learned with others if you want to, or even let people see your progress. hehe well I hope that helps if you need anything else you could shoot me a message on my blog http://jaeminsbc.blogspot.com/ , my email [email protected] , or youtube account which would be good so you could see the videos and people that I find to help me Quantumsprite (http://www.youtube.com/user/quantumsprite)

ok one last thing because I really want to help others to learn just as i want to learn. On youtube there is a show that comes on arirang television that someone has posted .. its called Lets speak korean trust me its there and it sorta helps alot... but there are many seasons the only one and a few newer ones. I hope this helps I really do.. ok Jaa-ne

HI Allison, I'm much older than you, but I'm working on my Korean also. If you have a Korean church near you, the members are very kind in helping anyone interested in learning Korean, and some of the churches even have classes. Something to remember if you do find and go to a Korean church, they all have a luncheon right after church, try to go to the luncheon, the young people will love having you their as you can help them with their English. Have Fun

I'm a thirteen-year-old, and I wish I had wanted to learn Korean five years ago. My friend Hyunjee is a fluent Korean (well, she IS Korean) and I think it would be cool to talk with her and have everyone else go 'What ARE they saying?!'
My mom sent me www.learnkoreanonline.net and I'm loving it already.
