What means Standard?  by Asiataal   2. Oct 2011

I noticed that for words "Standard" is written under the Kanji, and the writing in Hiragana and Katakana.
I also noticed that sometimes a word has received "standard" for the three forms.
I am confused about this: if "standard" means the standard Japanese way of writing the word, then I would assume that standard can only be used for one form of writing.
Could anyone help/explain.

Yes sometimes a word can be written in all three forms, but normally its only 1 or 2 forms.

Would it not be better to show only the Standard words? To see non-standard words is confusing and distracts the attention.

It helps if you want to know the pronunciation

I assume that one would agree that one help for pronounciation would suffice. If so, would it not be sufficient to have only the standard help for pronounciation, i.e. Hiragana?
MHO, when Katakana is not the standard, then there is no need for it.On the contrary, it distracts the attention and is confusing

There might be some users who prefer Katakana to learn the pronunciation. But Hiragana seems to be more common yes. It might be good if others could join this discussion.

Just a suggestion: could be a good idea to get the opinion of native Japanese speakers.
