Selecting writing system by Csikasz 13. Oct 2009
Would it be possible to add a setting for in what writing system sentences and dialogues are shown? |

Not sure I understand what you mean but its actually color coded: Kanji characters are shown in black, Hiragana in brown and Katakana in blue. |

The dialogues for example are written with a mixture of the three writing systems, as it would be in a real Japanese text, but since I can't yet read kanjis I can't read the dialogues. So I was wondering if it would be possible to add a setting as to which writing system should be used in dialogues and sentences, after personal preference. I would for example like to have all the words written out in hiragana, so that I could read them and practice on their meanings etc. while I learn to read kanjis so that I eventually can read the sentences/dialogues as they are supposed to be written. |

The mouseover explanation actually shows all three writing systems if that helps. |

Yes I know, but it does also show it's meaning. What I want to do is to practise on reading sentences and trying to figure out their meaning. Right now I have to know Kanji to be able to do that. |

Anybody else interested in this feature? |

It would be great, another way to do it is to have an option to turn the translation off when you mouseover the words. |

I guess that would be interesting, since I'm studying katakana & hiragana aswell. :) |

I would like it if we could set it so that there's no romanisation. I'd prefer furigana instead.
Romanisation is good for beginners, but you can become too dependant on it, and it's hard to ignore when it's there, but you need some way to be able to know how to pronounce Kanji properly. |

Furigana on the kanjis would be great for beginners like me!
I prefer furigana instead of romanization... in order to know how should I pronounce the kanjis. Any setting would be ok. |
