Knee Problems
Carla: Boa Tarde doutor, é um prazer conhecê-lo.
Carla: Good afternoon doctor, it is nice to meet you.
Doutor: É um prazer conhecê-la também Carla, como posso ajudá-la hoje?
Doctor: Nice meeting you too Carla, how can I help you today?
Carla: Doutor comecei há correr há alguns meses e os meus dois joelhos estão doendo muito. O joelho esquerdo faz um barulho quando ando e o direito dói quando passo muito tempo na mesma posição.
Carla: I started running a few months ago and now both my knees are hurting a lot. The left knee makes a noise when I walk and the right knee hurts when I remain for a while in the same position.
Doutor: Vou checar para você. Dobre os joelhos. Eu vou colocar pressão em ângulos diferentes e você me diz quando dói está bem?
Doctor: Let me check for you. Bend your knees. I will apply pressure at different angles and you tell me when it hurts ok?
Carla: Tudo bem. Está doendo agora.
Carla: OK. It is hurting now.
Doutor: Bom, eu sei qual é o problema. você tem uma lesão no joelho direito que está fazendo com que você tente compensar colocando mais peso sobre o joelho esquerdo.
Doctor: OK. I know what the problem is. You have an injury to your right knee, which is making you try to compensate and put more weight on the left knee.
Carla: O que posso fazer para melhorar?
Carla: What can I do to make it better?
Doutor: Infelizmente, não tem muito o que podemos fazer em termos de tratamento. Você vai precisar fortalecer a musculatura da perna para diminuir a tensão sobre a lesão do joelho.
Doctor: I am afraid there isn't much we can do treatment-wise. You'll need to strengthen the upper muscles to reduce the tension on your knee.
Carla: Tudo bem. Vou pedir para o meu instrutor na academia para me ajudar com isso.
Carla: OK. I'll ask my gym instructor to help me with that.
Doutor: Ótimo Carla, faça isso e se não melhorar volte a me ver.
Doctor: Great Carla, do that and if you don't get any better, come and see me again.
Carla: Obrigada doutor.
