Mãe, mãe, posso andar na roda gigante?
"Mummy, Mummy, can I go on the big wheel?"
Ah, não sei, querido, você ainda é um pouco jovem para isso. Você não acha que ficará assustado quando estiver lá em cima?
"Oh I don't know, darling, you're a little young for that. Don't you think you'll get scared when you're all the way up there?"
Eu nunca fico assustado, Mãe.
"I never get scared, Mummy."
É mesmo? E aquela noite em que você teve um pesadelo? Você disse que estava assustado e que tinha que dormir na minha cama.
"Really? What about the other night, when you had a nightmare? You said that you were scared, and that you had to sleep in my bed."
Mas aquilo foi diferente. Havia monstros no meu pesadelo. Monstros muito maus.
"That was different. There were monsters in my nightmare. Very bad monsters."
Entendo. Bom, se você quer mesmo andar na roda gigante, então você tem que prometer que será um bom menino durante o resto do dia.
"I see. Well, if you really want to go on the big wheel, then you have to promise to be a good boy for the rest of the day."
Está bem, mãe, eu prometo.
"OK Mummy, I promise."
Então está bem. Vamos comprar os ingressos. E não esqueça a sua promessa.
"All right then. Let's go buy two tickets. And don't forget your promise."
Não vou esquecer, mãe. Eu te amo, mãe.
"I won't, Mummy. I love you, Mummy."
Eu também te amo, querido.
"I love you too, darling."
