The good wife


수지의 남편은 몇 주째 혼수상태에 있었다.

Susie's husband had been in a coma for several weeks.
상황이 힘들었지만 그녀는 하루도 빠지지 않고 그의 옆자리를 지켰다.

Things looked grim, but she was by his bedside every single day.
하루는 그가 그녀에게 가까이 오라고 손짓을 했다.

One day he motioned for her to come close to him.
"당신 알지" 그는 눈물이 가득한 눈으로 속삭였다, "당신은 어려운 상황에도 계속 나와 함께 있어 주었어."

"You know" he whispered, his eyes filling with tears, "you have been with me through all the bad times."
"내가 해고 당했을 때, 당신은 내 옆에 붙어있었지. 나의 사업이 기울었을 때도 당신은 그 자리에 있었어."

"When I got fired, you stuck right beside me. When my business went under, there you were."
"우리가 집을 잃었을 때도 당신은 내 옆에 있었어. 나의 건강이 나빠지기 시작했을 때도 당신은 역시 내 옆에 있어주었지."

"When we lost the house, you were there. When my health started failing, you were still by my side."
"그런데 당신 이거 알아?"

"And you know what?"
"무얼요, 여보?" 그녀는 조심스럽게 물었다.

"What, dear?" she asked gently.
"내 생각에 당신이 나쁜 운인 거 같아"

"I think you're bad luck."
