Yoshida: Hello Mrs Matsumoto! How are you?

松本： こんにちは、吉田さん！ ええ、元気です、ありがとう！ 吉田さんは？ ご無沙汰してましたが、調子はいかがですか？

Matsumoto: Hello Mr Yoshida! I'm okay, thank you! What about you? It's been a while, but is everything all right?

吉田： ええっと、今は大丈夫なんですが、先月手術を受けて、その後2週間ほどはずっと家にいなくてはいけなかったんですよ。

Yoshida: Well, it is all right now, but I had surgery last month and had to stay home for a couple of weeks after that.

松本： ええっ、どうされたんですか？

Matsumoto: Oh, what happened?

---

吉田： 盲腸だったんです。

Yoshida: I had appendicitis.

松本： 痛みはひどかったですか？

Matsumoto: Were you in severe pain?

---

吉田： ええ、あんな激痛は人生で経験したことがないですよ。

Yoshida: Yes, I've never had such intense pain in my life.

松本： 虫垂炎って、若い人がなるんだと思ってましたわ。

Matsumoto: I thought appendicitis happens to younger people.

---

吉田： その通り、私のような年齢ではそんなに起こらないものですよね。

Yoshida: You are right, it does not happen often at my age.
