A picnic
「この場所、素敵ね。この木のそばに座りましょう」
"This is a nice place. Let's sit here next to this tree."
「いいね。そうすれば日陰で食べられるね」
"Good idea. That way we can eat in the shade."
「ええ。今日は日差しがすごく強いし、日焼け止めをつけるのを忘れちゃったのよ」
"Yes. The sun is very strong today, and I forgot to put on some sun lotion."
「僕もだよ。ポテトサラダはどこに入れたの？」
"So did I. Where did you put the potato salad?"
「茶色いビニール袋の中よ。お皿を取ってくれる？」
"It is in that brown plastic bag. Could you pass me the plates, please?"
「はい、どうぞ。うーん、そのサンドイッチ、すごくおいしそうだなぁ。何が入ってるの？」
"Here you go. Mmm, those sandwiches look really good. What did you put in them?"
「ハムとチーズが二つ、カニとマヨネーズが二つ、チキンときゅうりが二つよ。私たち二人分だけど、十分かな？」
"I made two with ham and cheese, two with crab and mayonnaise, and two with chicken and cucumber. Do you think it will be enough for both of us?"
「うん、十分だと思うよ。僕はお昼ご飯はあまりたくさん食べないから。飲み物はお水がいい？ それともコカコーラ？」
"I think so, yes. I never eat much food at lunch. Would you prefer a bottle of water, or a can of Coca-Cola?"
「お水をお願いするわ。さあ、食べましょう、三時には家に帰らないといけないわ」「なんで？」
"I will have some water, please. Let's eat, we have to go back home at three o'clock." "Why?"
「私の両親が訪ねて来るからよ。今朝話したじゃない」 「ああ、そうだった、思い出したよ。残念!」
"Because my parents are coming to visit us. I told you this morning." "Oh yes, I remember now. What a shame."
