Tre anziane signore sono al ristorante e discutono della loro salute.

Una signora dice: "Sapete, sto davvero perdendo la memoria. Stamattina ero in cima alle scale e non mi ricordavo se ero appena salita o se stavo per scendere."
One lady says, "You know, I'm getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn't remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down."
La seconda signora dice, "Ho fatto di peggio! L'altro giorno ero seduta sul bordo del letto e non mi ricordavo se stavo andando a letto o se mi ero appena svegliata!"
The second lady says, "I have done worse! The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and I couldn't remember whether I was going to sleep or had just woken up!"
La terza signora sorride divertita.
The third lady smiles smugly.
"Ebbene, la mia memoria è ancora ottima, tocca ferro", dice battendo sul tavolo.
"Well, my memory is just as good as it's always been, knock on wood," she says as she raps on the table.
Poi con un'espressione sorpresa chiede, "Chi è?"
Then with a startled look on her face, she asks, "Who's there?"
