The funeral

Anna: Ciao, William, dove sei stato ieri?

Anna: Hi William, where were you yesterday?

William: I couldn't come to school because I was at my uncle's funeral.
Anna: Oh, mi dispiace. Come stai?

Anna: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. How are you coping?
William: Va abbastanza bene, credo. Non gli ero molto attaccato.

William: I'm doing okay I guess. I wasn't very close to him.
Anna: Davvero? Che peccato.

Anna: Really? That's a pity.

William: Yes, but he hardly visited us, even though he lived close by.
Anna: Oh, perché no?

Anna: Oh why not?

William: Not sure. After he died my father expressed doubt that his late brother liked him much. I also think he was busy with his own friends, because there were a lot of people at the funeral!
Anna: Beh, quello spiega tutto!

Anna: Well, that explains a lot!
