The earthquake


Jack: Ciao Sally! Hai visto il telegiornale? C'è stato un grave terremoto in Giappone.

Jack: Hi Sally! Did you see the news, there was a huge earthquake in Japan.
Sally: Davvero? Oggi non ho acceso né la radio né la televisione.

Sally: Really? Haven't switched on the radio or TV today.
Jack: È stato il terremoto più grave mai registrato in Giappone! Ha causato un grande tsunami!

Jack: It was the biggest earthquake ever recorded in Japan! It triggered a huge tsunami!
Sally: Oh mio dio! Mio fratello è in Giappone adesso.

Sally: Oh my god! My brother is in Japan at the moment.
Jack: Dove si trova?

Jack: Where is he?
Sally: A Fukuoka, nel sud del Giappone.

Sally: He is in Fukuoka. That's in the South of Japan.
Jack: Il terremoto è stato a nord, vicino a Sendai.

Jack: The quake was in the North, near Sendai.
Sally: Oh, spero che stia bene! Devo chiamarlo immediatamente! Ciao!

Sally: Oh I hope he is OK! I need to call him right now! Bye!
Jack: Ok, ciao!

Jack: OK bye!
