Italian Possessive Pronouns (Pronomi Possessivi)

In Italian the possessive pronouns have the same forms as the corresponding adjectives.

They are always preceded by the definite article or by a preposition.

yours tuo tua tuoi tue
his, her, its suo sua suoi sue
ours nostro nostra nostri nostre

Examples

• Chiara gioca con il suo cane, mentre io gioco con il mio / Chiara plays with her dog while I play with mine
• Non trovavo il mio cappello quindi ho preso il tuo / I couldn't find my hat so I took yours
• Se non hai una tenda puoi dormire nella nostra / If you don't have a tent you can sleep in ours
• "Non ho la macchina" "Prendi la loro!" / "I don't have a car" "Well, take theirs!"
