At the funfair

"Mummy, Mummy, can I go on the big wheel?"

"Oh I don't know, darling, you're a little young for that. Don't you think you'll get scared when you're all the way up there?"
"Je n'ai jamais peur, maman."

"I never get scared, Mummy."
"Vraiment ?

"Really? What about the other night, when you had a nightmare? You said that you were scared, and that you had to sleep in my bed."

"That was different. There were monsters in my nightmare. Very bad monsters."

"I see. Well, if you really want to go on the big wheel, then you have to promise to be a good boy for the rest of the day."
"D'accord, maman, je le promets."

"OK Mummy, I promise."
"Alors, d'accord. Allons acheter deux billets. Et n'oublie pas ta promesse."

"All right then. Let's go buy two tickets. And don't forget your promise."
"Je n'oublierai pas, maman. Je t'aime, maman."

"I won't, Mummy. I love you, Mummy."
"Je t'aime aussi, mon chéri."

"I love you too, darling."
