The atheist
Une jeune femme rentra chez elle en ayant l'air triste.
A young woman came home looking sad.
Elle dit à sa mère : "Paul m'a demandée en mariage aujourd'hui."
She told her mother, "Paul proposed to me today."
"Alors pourquoi es-tu si triste ?" demanda sa mère.
"Then why are you so sad?" her mother asked.
"Car il a aussi mentionné qu'il était athée. Maman, il ne croit pas à l'enfer !"
"Because he also mentioned he was an atheist. Mom, he doesn't believe in hell!"
Sa mère répondit : "Epouse-le quand même ! Ensemble, on lui montrera combien il avait tort !"
Her mother replied, "Marry him anyway! Together, we'll show him how wrong he is!"
