Taking a taxi
"ไปเลขที่ 51 ถนนสีลมค่ะ"
"I would like to go to 51 Silom Road, please."
"ได้ครับ โรงพยาบาลใช่ไหมครับ"
"Of course, madam. That is a hospital, isn't it?"
"ใช่ค่ะ ฉันจะไปเยี่ยมแม่สามี เธอตกบันไดสะโพกหัก"
"Yes, it is. I am going to visit my mother-in-law. She fell down some stairs and broke her hip."
"เสียใจด้วยครับ คุณดีจังเลยที่ไปเยี่ยมเธอ คนส่วนใหญ่ไม่ค่อยชอบแม่สามีหรือแม่ยาย"
"I am sorry to hear that. It is nice of you to go and see her. People usually don't like their mothers-in-law."
"ก็จริงค่ะ แต่แม่สามีของฉันเป็นคนดีมาก ฉันชอบเธอมากด้วย"
"That's true, but my mother-in-law is a very nice woman, and I like her very much."
"ผมอยากให้แม่ยายผมเป็นแบบนั้นเหมือนกัน เธอไม่ดีกับผมเลย"
"I wish my mother-in-law was like that. She is always very unpleasant to me."
"แย่จัง ทำไมคุณคิดว่าเธอไม่ชอบคุณล่ะคะ"
"That's a shame. Why do you think she doesn't like you?"
"ไม่รู้สิครับ ผมทำตัวดีกับเธอตลอด บางทีเธออาจแค่ไม่ชอบคนขับแท็กซี่ก็ได้"
"I don't know. I am always nice to her. Maybe she just does not like taxi drivers."
"เป็นไปได้นะคะ มีคนที่ไม่ชอบคนขับแท็กซี่เยอะเหมือนกัน"
"That is possible. Many people dislike taxi drivers."
"ใช่ครับ แต่ผมก็ไม่เข้าใจว่าทำไม"
"Yes, that is true. But I don't understand why."
"ฉันก็ไม่เข้าใจค่ะ"
"I don't either."
