The funeral
อัญชลี: หวัดดีค่ะปิติ ได้ยินว่าคุณยายคุณเสีย
Anchalee: Hi Piti. I've heard your grandmother passed away.
ปิติ: หวัดดีครับอัญชลี ใช่แล้วล่ะ
Piti: Hi Anchalee. Yes that's true.
อัญชลี: เสียใจด้วยนะคะ จัดงานศพไปเมื่อไหร่คะ?
Anchalee: My condolences! When was the funeral?
ปิติ: เมื่อวันจันทร์ครับ
Piti: It was on Monday.
อัญชลี: อ๋อค่ะ ฉันเกลียดงานศพ แต่อย่างน้อยคุณก็ได้เจอญาติ ๆ อีกครั้ง
Anchalee: I see. I hate funerals, but at least you see some relatives again.
ปิติ: ใช่ครับ มีคนมาเยอะเลย ผมไม่รู้จักตั้งหลายคน
Piti: Yes, there were a lot of people. Many of them I didn't even know.
อัญชลี: คำสรรเสริญเป็นไงบ้างคะ?
Anchalee: How was the eulogy?
ปิติ: ก็ตามปกติแหละครับ มีตอนที่ตลกด้วย ระหว่างกล่าวคำสรรเสริญ จู่ ๆ ก็มีเสียงโทรศัพท์ดังขึ้นเป็นเพลงจาก "Mission Impossible" ตลกมากจนผมเกือบหัวเราะออกมาดัง ๆ เลย
Piti: You know the usual. There was a funny moment though. Suddenly, in the middle of the eulogy, someone's cell phone started ringing with the "Mission Impossible" theme. The whole thing was so funny that I almost laughed out loud.
อัญชลี: ฮ่า ๆ ตลกจัง เขาต้องอายมากแน่ ๆ เลย!
Anchalee: Haha, that's funny. He must have been embarrassed!
ปิติ: ใช่ เขาเลยรีบออกไปแล้วก็ไม่ได้กลับเข้ามาในงานอีกเท่าที่ผมรู้นะ
Piti: Yeah, he quickly left and didn't come back as far as I know.
อัญชลี: สามีของป้าฉันเป็นคนกล่าวสรรเสริญในงานศพ เขาบอกว่ามีเรื่องแบบนี้ประจำ
Anchalee: My auntie's husband is a funeral celebrant (funeral speaker) and he said this happens all the time.
ปิติ: ผมพอจะนึกออก
Piti: I can imagine.
อัญชลี: ค่ะ เขาเล่าเรื่องตลกให้ฉันฟังตลอดเลย เขาเล่าว่ามีอยู่ครั้งหนึ่งมีคนขอให้เปิดเพลง "Highway to Hell" ของ AC/DC ที่งานศพด้วย
Anchalee: Yes. Every time he tells me some crazy story. He said once a guy requested that they play "Highway to Hell" from AC/DC at his funeral.
ปิติ: ฮ่า ๆ เอาล่ะ ผมต้องไปแล้ว หวัดดีครับ!
Piti: Haha. OK, I got to go now. See you!
อัญชลี: หวัดดีค่ะ!
Anchalee: Bye!
