The new class

En dag hälsade en lärare på sin nya klass.

One day a teacher was greeting his new class.

Han ställde sig upp inför klassen och frågade om någon i klassen var en idiot, och om de var det skulle de ställa sig upp.

He stood up in front of the class and asked if anyone in the class was an idiot, and if they were, they should stand up.

Efter en minut ställde sig en ung man upp.

After a minute a young man stood up.

Professorn frågade då ungen om han verkligen tyckte att han var en idiot.

The professor then asked the kid if he actually thought he was an idiot.

Ungen svarade: "Nej, jag ville bara inte att du skulle stå där alldeles ensam."

The kid replied: "No, I just didn't want to see you standing there all by yourself"
