Stefan: Åh, inget vidare. För en månad sedan blev min son diagnostiserad med diabetes.

Stefan: Oh, not so good. One month ago my son was diagnosed with diabetes.

Oliver: Det var tråkigt att höra. Hur gammal är han?

Oliver: Sorry to hear that. How old is he?

Stefan: Han är 12.

Stefan: He is 12.

Oliver: Min kusin har diabetes. Men han är över 40 och överviktig.

Oliver: My cousin has diabetes. But he is over 40 and overweight.

Stefan: Min son har typ 1-diabetes. Din kusin har troligen typ 2-diabetes.

Stefan: My son has type 1 diabetes. Your cousin probably has type 2 diabetes.

Oliver: Okej. Vad är skillnaden?

Oliver: Right. And what is the difference?

---

Stefan: Tja, typ 1-diabetes har inget med brist på motion att göra. Det är en autoimmun sjukdom.

Stefan: Well, type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with lack of exercise. It is an autoimmune disease.

Oliver: Så det är bara otur, egentligen?

Oliver: So basically just bad luck?

---

Stefan: Ja. Just nu koncentrerar jag mig på att hjälpa min son att bli bättre.

Stefan: Yes. Right now I'm focusing on helping my son get better.
