A life in Portugal

Andrew vuelve a casa del trabajo.

Andrew comes home from work.
Andrew: "¡Hola!"

Andrew: Hello!
Jackie: "Hola cariño, ¿cómo estás?"

Jackie: Hello darling. How are you?
Andrew: "Agotado."

Andrew: Exhausted.
Jackie: "¿Te acuerdas de Emmy?"

Jackie: Do you still remember Emmy?
Andrew: "¿Emmy? Sí, claro. No he hablado con ella desde hace años."

Andrew: Emmy? Oh, yes. I haven't talked to her for ages.
Jackie: "Bien, pues la he encontrado en Internet."

Jackie: Well, I found her through the Internet.
Andrew: "¿Y cómo está?"

Andrew: How is she?
Jackie: "Ahora vive en Portugal."

Jackie: She lives now in Portugal.
Andrew: "¿Portugal" ¡Qué bien!"

Andrew: Portugal? Nice.
Jackie: "Sí, vive de forma independiente. Tiene su propio suministro de agua y electricidad."

Jackie: Yes. She lives very independently there. She has her own water and power supply.
Andrew: "¡Me encantaría vivir así!"

Andrew: I'd love to live like that!
Jackie: "Bueno, tiene sus riesgos. Me contó que casi muere en un incendio."

Jackie: Well, it has its risks. She said that she almost got killed in a fire.
Andrew: "¿De verdad? ¿Qué pasó?"

Andrew: Really? What happened?
Jackie: "Aparentemente un accidente con una lámpara de queroseno."

Jackie: Apparently an accident with a kerosene lamp!
Andrew: "¡Oh dios mío!"

Andrew: Goodness me!
Jackie: "Sí, a mí también me dejó paralizada."

Jackie: Yes, I was shocked too.
Andrew: "Deberíamos hacerle una visita en Portugal."

Andrew: We should visit her in Portugal.
Jackie: "¡Buena idea""

Jackie: Good idea!
