Oliver: "¡Hola Stefan! ¿Cómo te va todo?"

Oliver: Hi Stefan! How are things?

Stefan: "Bueno, no muy bien. Hace un mes le han diagnosticado diabetes a mi hijo."

Stefan: Oh, not so good. One month ago my son was diagnosed with diabetes.

Oliver: "Siento escuchar eso. ¿Cuántos años tiene?"

Oliver: Sorry to hear that. How old is he?

---

Stefan: "Tiene 12."

Stefan: He is 12.

---

Oliver: "Mi primo tiene diabetes. Pero es mayor de 40 y tiene sobrepeso."

Oliver: My cousin has diabetes. But he is over 40 and overweight.

Stefan: "Mi hijo tiene diabetes del tipo 1. Es probable que tu primo tenga diabetes del tipo 2."

Stefan: My son has type 1 diabetes. Your cousin probably has type 2 diabetes.

Oliver: "Exacto, y ¿cuál es la diferencia?"

Oliver: Right. And what is the difference?

---

Stefan: "Bien, la diabetes del tipo 1 no tiene nada que ver con la falta de ejercicio. Es una enfermedad autoinmunitaria."

Stefan: Well, type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with lack of exercise. It is an autoimmune disease.

Oliver: "Así que básicamente, ¿ha tenido mala suerte?"

Oliver: So basically just bad luck?

---

Stefan: "Sí, ahora me estoy centrando en ayudar a que mi hijo mejore."

Stefan: Yes. Right now I'm focusing on helping my son get better.

Oliver: "Te deseo mucha suerte. ¡Adiós!"

Oliver: I wish you luck. See you!

---

Stefan: "¡Hasta luego!"
