The birthday party

Los padres de Tom están desayunando. Tom entra a la cocina.

Tom's parents are having breakfast. Tom enters the kitchen.
Madre de Tom: "Buenos días, Tom. ¡Ya casi es mediodía! ¿Cuándo has vuelto de la fiesta?"

Tom's mother: Good morning Tom! It's almost midday! When did you get back from the party?
Tom: No estoy seguro. Creo que a eso de las 2 de la mañana. Fue una gran fiesta.

Tom: Not sure. I think about 2 a.m. It was a great party.
Padre de Tom: Cuando era joven, tenía que volver a casa antes de la medianoche.

Tom's father: When I was young I had to be home before midnight.
Tom: Claro. Pero las cosas son diferentes ahora.

Tom: Sure. But things are different now.
Padre de Tom: Sí, lo sé. Y entonces, ¿te lo pasaste bien?

Tom's father: Yes I know. Did you have a good time then?
Tom: ¡Sí! John cumplía 16 años. Algunos amigos le tiraron a la piscina.

Tom: Yes! It was John's 16th birthday. Some of his friends threw him into the pool there.
Madre de Tom: Jaja, ¡qué bueno! También hacíamos este tipo de cosas a tu edad.

Tom's mother: Haha, funny. We did that too when we were your age!
Tom: A John no le pareció gracioso. Tenía el móvil en el bolsillo del pantalón.

Tom: John didn't think it was funny. He had his mobile phone in his trouser pocket.
Madre de Tom: ¡Vaya! ¿Y se rompió el móvil?

Tom's mother: Oh, was the phone broken?
Tom: Sí, estaba muy enfadado.

Tom: Yes. He was really furious!
