At the funfair

"Mamá, mamá, ¿puedo subir a la noria?"

"Mummy, Mummy, can I go on the big wheel?"
"Oh, no sé, cariño, eres un poco pequeño para eso. ¿No crees que vas a tener miedo cuando estés ahí arriba?"

"Oh I don't know, darling, you're a little young for that. Don't you think you'll get scared when you're all the way up there?"
"Mamá, yo nunca tengo miedo".

"I never get scared, Mummy."
"¿En serio? ¿Y la otra noche, cuando tuviste una pesadilla? Decías que tenías miedo y que tenías que dormir en mi cama".

"Really? What about the other night, when you had a nightmare? You said that you were scared, and that you had to sleep in my bed."
"Eso era diferente. En mi pesadilla había monstruos. Monstruos muy malos".

"That was different. There were monsters in my nightmare. Very bad monsters."
"Ya veo. Bueno, si realmente quieres subir a la noria, entonces tienes que prometerme que vas a ser bueno durante el resto del día".

"I see. Well, if you really want to go on the big wheel, then you have to promise to be a good boy for the rest of the day."
"Vale, mamá, lo prometo".

"OK Mummy, I promise."
"Entonces de acuerdo. Vamos a comprar dos entradas. Y no olvides tu promesa".

"All right then. Let's go buy two tickets. And don't forget your promise."
"No lo haré, mamá. Te quiero, mamá".

"I won't, Mummy. I love you, Mummy."
"Yo también te quiero, cariño".

"I love you too, darling."
