The new scam

David: Es tan divertido lo que acaba de pasarme.
David: So funny what just happened to me.
Dan: ¿Qué ha pasado?
Dan: What happened?
David: Bien, fui a Gumtree.com para buscar un piso. Había un piso muy barato disponible en un lugar muy céntrico. Así que le envíe un correo electrónico al chico y le pregunté si el piso está disponible todavía.
David: Well, I went to Gumtree.com to look for a flat. There was a really cheap flat in a very central location available. So I emailed the guy and asked if the flat is still available.
Dan: Apuesto a que era una estafa.
Dan: I bet it was a scam.
David: Sí, exacto. Me dijo que vive en el extranjero y que necesita comprar un billete de avión para enseñarme el piso. Dijo que había perdido el tiempo con anteriores inquilinos potenciales y por eso necesita un depósito por adelantado antes de enseñarme el piso.
David: Yes exactly. He told me that he lives abroad and needs to buy a plane ticket to show me the flat. He said he had wasted time with previous potential tenants and therefore needs a deposit up front before showing me the flat.
Dan: ¡Sí, exacto! Y quería ese depósito mediante "Western Union", ¿verdad?
Dan: Yeah right! And he wanted that deposit through "Western Union" right?
David: ¡Sí! No hay forma de que te devuelvan el dinero si pagas mediante "Western Union".
David: Yep! There's no way to get the money back if you pay through "Western Union".
Dan: Me pregunto si de verdad las personas caen en este tipo de estafa.
Dan: I wonder if people really fall for this kind of scam.
