Taking a taxi

"¡Hola! Quiero ir al 51 de Churchill Avenue, por favor."

"Hello. I would like to go to 51 Churchill Avenue, please."
"Por supuesto, señora. Es un hospital, ¿verdad?"

"Of course, madam. It is a hospital, isn't it?"
"Sí, lo es. Voy a visitar a mi suegra. Se cayó por unas escaleras y se ha roto la cadera."

"Yes, it is. I am going to visit my mother-in-law. She fell down some stairs and broke her hip."
"Siento oír eso. Es un detalle por su parte ir a verla. Normalmente a la gente no le gusta sus suegras."

"I am sorry to hear that. It is nice of you to go and see her. People usually don't like their mothers-in-law."
"Eso es verdad, pero mi suegra es una mujer muy agradable y la quiero mucho."

"That's true, but my mother-in-law is a very nice woman, and I like her very much."
"Ojalá mi suegra fuera así. Ella siempre es muy desagradable conmigo."

"I wish my mother-in-law was like that. She is always very unpleasant to me."
"Eso es una pena. ¿Por qué crees que no le gustas?"

"That's a shame. Why do you think she doesn't like you?"
"No lo sé. Siempre soy agradable con ella. Quizás no le gustan los taxistas."

"I don't know. I am always nice to her. Maybe she just does not like taxi drivers."
"Es posible. A muchas personas no les gustan los taxistas."

"It is possible. Many people dislike taxi drivers."
"Sí, eso es verdad. Pero no entiendo por qué."

"Yes, that is true. But I don't understand why."
"Yo tampoco."

"I don't either."
