The old lady

Маленький мальчик просит у отца десять рублей для старушки в парке.

A little boy asks his father for ten roubles for an old lady in the park.

Его отец поражён добротой сына и даёт ему десять рублей.

His father is impressed by his son's kindness and gives him ten roubles.

"Вот, сын", - говорит отец.

"There you are son," says the father.

"Наверное, старушка больше не может работать, правда?"

"Probably, the old lady is not able to work any more, isn't she?"

"Она продаёт конфеты," - отвечает сын.

"She sells candy," replies his son.
