Oliver: 안녕 Stefan! 어떻게 지내?

Oliver: Hi Stefan! How are things?

Stefan: 오, 별로 안 좋아. 한 달 전에 우리 아들이 당뇨병을 진단 받았어.

Stefan: Oh, not so good. One month ago my son was diagnosed with diabetes.

Oliver: 어떡해...아들이 몇 살이지?

Oliver: Sorry to hear that. How old is he?

---

Stefan: 12살이야.

Stefan: He is 12.

---

Oliver: 내 사촌도 당뇨병이 있어. 그런데 걔는 40이 넘었고 비만이야.

Oliver: My cousin has diabetes. But he is over 40 and overweight.

Stefan: 우리 아들은 제1형 당뇨병이야. 너희 사촌은 아마 제2형 당뇨병일거야.

Stefan: My son has type 1 diabetes. Your cousin probably has type 2 diabetes.

---

Oliver: 그렇구나. 뭐가 다른거야?

Oliver: Right. And what is the difference?

---

Stefan: 제1형 당뇨병은 운동부족과는 상관이 없는 거야. 자가면역 질환이야.

Stefan: Well, type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with lack of exercise. It is an autoimmune disease.

Oliver: 그러니까 단순하게 운이 안 좋은 거네?

Oliver: So basically just bad luck?

---

Stefan: 응. 나는 지금 우리 아들 낫게 하는 데에만 집중하고 있어.

Stefan: Yes. Right now I'm focusing on helping my son get better.

Oliver: 잘 되길 빌어. 안녕!

Oliver: I wish you luck. See you!

---

Stefan: 안녕!

Stefan: See you!
