The birthday party
(Tom의 부모님이 아침을 먹고 있다. Tom이 부엌에 들어온다.)
(Tom's parents are having breakfast. Tom enters the kitchen.)
Tom의 어머니: 좋은 아침 Tom! 벌써 정오인데! 파티에서 언제 왔니?
Tom's mother: Good morning Tom! It's almost midday! When did you get back from the party?
Tom: 모르겠어요. 새벽 2시쯤. 정말 재밌었어요.
Tom: Not sure. I think about 2 a.m. It was a great party.
Tom의 아버지: 내가 어렸을 때는 자정이 되기 전에 집에 와야 했어.
Tom's father: When I was young I had to be home before midnight.
Tom: 네. 지금은 시대가 다르잖아요.
Tom: Sure. But things are different now.
Tom의 아버지: 알아. 그래서 재밌었어?
Tom's father: Yes I know. Did you have a good time then?
Tom: 네! John 16살 생일이었어요. 그런데 John 친구들이 John을 수영장에 빠뜨렸어요.
Tom: Yes! It was John's 16th birthday. Some of his friends threw him into the pool there.
Tom의 어머니: 하하, 웃긴다. 우리도 너희 때 그랬는데!
Tom's mother: Haha, funny. We did that too when we were your age!
Tom: John은 웃기다고 생각 안 했어요. 핸드폰이 바지 주머니에 있었거든요.
Tom: John didn't think it was funny. He had his mobile phone in his trouser pocket.
Tom의 어머니: 어머, 핸드폰 고장났니?
Tom's mother: Oh, was the phone broken?
Tom: 네. 그래서 진짜 화났어요!
Tom: Yes. He was really furious!
(Tom의 부모님이 아침을 먹고 있다. Tom이 부엌에 들어온다.)
