Annette: 안녕 Pete. 할머니 돌아가셨다는 얘기 들었어.
Annette: Hi Pete. I've heard your grandmother passed away.
Pete: 안녕 Annette. 응..
Pete: Hi Annette. Yeah..
Annette: 장례식이 언제였어?
Annette: When was the funeral?
Pete: 월요일이었어.
Pete: It was on Monday.
Annette: 그렇구나. 나는 장례식을 별로 안 좋아해. 그래도 그나마 친척들을 볼 수 있으니까.
Annette: I see. I hate funerals, but at least you see some relatives again.
Pete: 응, 장례식에 사람들이 많았어. 내가 알지도 못하는 사람들이 대부분이었어.
Pete: Yes, there were a lot of people. Many of them I didn't even know.
Annette: 추도 연설은 어땠어?
Annette: How was the eulogy?
Pete: 그냥 똑같지 뭐. 그런데 좀 웃긴게 있었어. 갑자기 추도 연설 도중에 핸드폰이 울렸는데 벨소리가 미션 임파서블 테마곡인 거야. 그게 너무 웃겨서 나 완전 크게 웃을 뻔 했어.
Pete: You know the usual. There was a funny moment though. Suddenly, in the middle of the eulogy, someone's cell phone started ringing with the "Mission Impossible" theme. The whole thing was so funny that I almost laughed out loud.
Annette: 하하. 웃긴다. 그 사람 너무 당황했겠다!
Annette: Haha, funny that. He must have been embarrassed!
Pete: 응, 재빨리 나가서는 아마 안 돌아온 것 같애.
Pete: Yeah, he quickly left and didn't come back as far as I know.
Annette: 우리 고모부가 장례식 연설가이신데 이런 일이 항상 일어난대.
Annette: My auntie's husband is a funeral celebrant (funeral speaker) and he said this happens all the time.
Pete: 짐작이 된다.
Pete: I can imagine.
Annette: 매일 나한테 황당한 얘기를 해주셔. 한 남자는 자기 장례식에서 AC/DC의 "Highway to Hell"를 틀어달라고 했대.
Annette: Every time he tells me some crazy story. He said once a guy requested that they play "Highway to Hell" from AC/DC at his funeral.
Pete: 하하. 그걸 블랙 유머라고 하는거야. 나 이제 가 봐야겠다. 잘 가!
Pete: Haha. That's called black humor. OK, I got to go now. See you!
Annette: 안녕!
Annette: Bye!
