亜沙美と博史が自分達の仕事について話している。
Asami and Hiroshi talk about their jobs.
亜沙美：お仕事は何をしてるの？
Asami: What is your occupation?
博史：警察官だよ。
Hiroshi: I'm a police officer.
亜沙美：本当？ それは面白そうね！
Asami: Really? That must be exciting!
博史：まあ、いつもそうではないよ。書類仕事も多いし。
Hiroshi: Well, not always. There is a lot of paperwork to do.
亜沙美：警察官になってどのくらい？
Asami: How long have you been a police officer?
博史：20年以上になるよ。
Hiroshi: More than 20 years.
亜沙美：それは長いわね。仕事で自分は変わったと感じることはある？
Asami: That's a long time. Do you feel that your job has changed you personally?
博史：うん。今はもうお酒はほどほどにしてるよ。どれだけたくさんの人の人生がアルコールでだめになったかを見てきたからね。
Hiroshi: Yes. I only drink alcohol in moderation now, because I've seen how many people's lives have been destroyed because of it.
亜沙美：そんなにひどいの？
Asami: So bad?
博史：うん、残念ながらね。アルコールがなければ、警察部隊もおそらく半分に削減できるだろうね。
Hiroshi: Yes, unfortunately. You probably could cut the police force by half if it weren't for alcohol.
亜沙美：それじゃ、私はノンアルコール・ビールにするわ！
Asami: I guess I get the non-alcoholic beer then!
博史：賢明な決断だね！
Hiroshi: Good decision!
