明弘が仕事から帰ってくる。
Akihiro comes home from work.
明弘： ただいま！
Akihiro: Hello!
順子： お帰りなさい。今日はどうだった?
Junko: Hello darling. How was your day?
明弘： クタクタだよ。
Akihiro: Exhausted.
順子： ところで、絵美のこと覚えてる?
Junko: By the way, do you still remember Emi?
明弘： 絵美ちゃん? うん、覚えてるよ。ずいぶん長いこと会ってないなぁ。
Akihiro: Emi? Oh, yes. I haven't seen her for ages.
順子： ネットで彼女のこと見つけたのよ。
Junko: I found her through the Internet.
明弘： 本当? 今、どうしてるの?
Akihiro: Really? How is she?
順子： 今、ポルトガルに住んでるそうよ。
Junko: She lives now in Portugal.
明弘： ポルトガル? いいね！
Akihiro: Portugal? Nice!
順子： うん、自給自足の生活をしてるそうよ。水も電気も自給なんだって。
Junko: Yes. She lives self-sufficiently there. Own water and electricity.
明弘： 僕もそんなふうに生活してみたいな!
Akihiro: I'd love to live like that!
順子： でも、リスクもあるわよ。絵美、火事で死にかけたって言ってたわ。
Junko: Well, it has its risks. She said that she almost got killed in a fire.
明弘： 本当に? 何があったの?
Akihiro: Really? What happened?
順子： 灯油ランプで事故になったらしいわ。
Junko: Apparently an accident with a kerosene lamp!
明弘： えぇっ、大変だったね!
Akihiro: Goodness me!
順子： ええ、私もびっくりしたわ。
Junko: Yes, I was shocked too.
明弘： 絵美ちゃんに会いにポルトガルに行きたいね。
Akihiro: We should visit her in Portugal.
順子： いいアイデアね!
Junko: Good idea!
