The best friend
大介は昔の学校の友人の義久にフェイスブックを通じて連絡を取る。二人はオンラインでチャットしている。
Daisuke contacts his old school friend Yoshihisa through Facebook. They chat online.
大介： やあ、義久。また話ができてうれしいよ。わぁ、どれくらいになるかな？ 10年？
Daisuke: Hi Yoshihisa. Good to talk to you again. Wow, how long has it been? 10 years?
義久： 大介！ うん、同窓会で会って以来、10年か11年ぶりだね。
Yoshihisa: Daisuke!! Yes, it's been 10 or 11 years since we met at the school reunion.
大介： その後どうしてる？ 今もサッカークラブのコーチをやってるの？
Daisuke: So how are things? Still working as a coach at the football club?
義久： いいや、あれはもう辞めたんだ。
Yoshihisa: No, not really.
大介： でも、サッカー大好きじゃなかったっけ？ いつも雄三と一緒にサッカーしてたよね。雄三はところでどうしてるんだい？
Daisuke: But you loved to play football, didn't you? You used to play with Yuzo all the time. How is Yuzo by the way?
義久： 雄三？ ああ・・・何があったか知らない？ あいつ、2004年の津波で亡くなったんだよ。
Yoshihisa: Yuzo? Oh.. don't you know what happened to him? He died in the tsunami in 2004.
大介： ええっ・・・！ 知らなかった。
Daisuke: Oh, my god...! I didn't know that.
義久： 奥さんの祥子さんと一緒にタイのカオラックに行って、帰らぬ人になったんだよ。僕の親友だったんだ。
Yoshihisa: He went to "Khao Lak" with his wife Shoko and never came back. He was my best friend.
大介： それは本当に残念だったね。いいやつだったよな・・・！
Daisuke: So sorry to hear that. He was a nice guy!
