The house in the mountains
Ho una casa in montagna. E' una piccola baita in legno con le persiane verdi e un muretto di pietra che ne percorre tutto il perimetro.
I have a house in the mountains. It's a small wooden cabin with green shutters and a little stone wall running the length of it.
Si trova immersa in un mare d'erba verde intenso, macchiato solo dalle rocce e dai fiori d'aprile. Dio, che fiori magnifici! Margherite, ranuncoli, viole… migliaia di fiori si concentrano lì, in un arcobaleno floreale, vortice colorato, attorno alla mia casa.
It sits nestled in a sea of deep green grass, dappled only by rocks and April flowers. God, what magnificent flowers! Daisies, buttercups, violets... thousands of flowers are concentrated there in a floral rainbow, colorful swirl, around my house.
Non molto lontano si apre il bosco con i suoi abeti scuri e minacciosi, interrotti solo di rado da pochi larici argentati.
Not far away the forest opens up with its dark and menacing firs, interrupted only rarely by a few silver larches.
A recintare questo luogo stanno le cime rocciose delle Alpi, ammassi di granito, denti di squalo, guardiani immortali della mia piccola baita.
Fencing this place are the rocky peaks of the Alps, masses of granite, shark's teeth, immortal guardians of my little cabin.
