A doctor's visit
Ricardo: Buongiorno. Vorrei prendere un appuntamento con il medico per oggi.
Ricardo: Hello. Could I make an appointment with the doctor today?
Centralinista: Come si chiama?
Receptionist: What is your name?
Ricardo: Mi chiamo Ricardo González.
Ricardo: My name is Ricardo González.
Centralinista: A proposito di quale problema di salute chiama?
Receptionist: In regard to what health issue are you calling?
Ricardo: Provo un po' di dolore quando urino.
Ricardo: There is some pain when I pass water.
Centralinista: Va bene, venga alle 5.35 del pomeriggio per favore.
Receptionist: OK, please come at 5.35pm.
Ricardo arriva allo studio del medico.
Ricardo arrives at the doctor's surgery.
Ricardo: Buongiorno, mi chiamo Ricardo. Ho un appuntamento alle 5.35.
Ricardo: Hello, my name is Ricardo. I've an appointment at 5.35pm.
Centralinista: Va bene, il dottore la chiamerà tra poco.
Receptionist: OK the doctor will call you in you soon.
Ricardo aspetta 10 minuti e viene chiamato nello studio del dottore.
Ricardo waits 10 minutes and is called to the doctor's office.
Dottore: Si sieda. Come posso aiutarla?
Doctor: Please sit down. How can I help you?
Ricardo: Tre giorni fa ho avuto un po' di febbre e urinare era doloroso. Ho pensato che sarei migliorato, ma ieri non sono riuscito a dormire per il dolore all'inguine.
Ricardo: Three days ago I had a bit of fever and passing water was painful. I thought it would get better but yesterday I couldn't sleep because of the pain in my groin area.
Dottore: Ha sangue nelle urine?
Doctor: Is there blood in the urine?
Ricardo: No.
Ricardo: No there isn't.
Dottore: Sembra che abbia un'infezione al tratto urinario. Le prescrivo un antibiotico che si chiama Trimethoprim. Lo prenda due volte al giorno per una settimana.
Doctor: It seems you have an urinary tract infection. I'll prescribe you this antibiotic called Trimethoprim. Take it twice a day for one week.
Ricardo: Va bene!
Ricardo: All right!
Dottore: Si assicuri di continuare a prenderlo per tutta la settimana, anche se si sente meglio prima.
Doctor: Make sure to keep taking it for a full week, even if you feel better before that.
Ricardo: Grazie dottore. Arrivederci!
Ricardo: Thank you doctor. Bye!
Dottore: Arrivederci.
Doctor: Goodbye.
