The ankle injury
Mary: Come stai, Peter? Perché zoppichi?
Mary: How are you, Peter? Why are you limping?
Peter: Ciao Mary! Mi sono fatto male alla caviglia giocando a badminton.
Peter: Hi Mary! I injured my ankle while I was playing badminton.
Mary: Santo cielo! Devi aver sofferto!
Mary: Oh dear! That must have hurt!
Peter: Sì e si è gonfiata terribilmente.
Peter: Yes, and it swelled up badly.
Mary: Io mi sono quasi rotta una caviglia su un trampolino elastico!
Mary: I nearly broke my ankle on a trampoline!
Peter: Sì, succede spesso con i trampolini elastici. Anch'io una volta ho preso una storta a una caviglia su un trampolino elastico. Ti hanno operata?
Peter: Yes, that happens often with trampolines. I also sprained my ankle on a trampoline once. Did you need surgery?
Mary: No, ma non posso più indossare tacchi alti. Sembra che non sia mai guarita del tutto. Ma è stata colpa mia. Sono troppo pesante per fare trampolino elastico!
Mary: No, but I can't wear high heels anymore. It seems it never healed up properly. But it was my fault. I'm too heavy for trampolining!
Peter: Capisco. Fai sport?
Peter: I see. Do you do sports?
Mary: Non proprio.
Mary: Not really.
Peter: Ti piacerebbe giocare a badminton con noi? Giochiamo ogni lunedì.
Peter: Would you like to play badminton with us? We play every Monday.
Mary: Mi piacerebbe molto!
Mary: I would love to!
Peter: Perfetto! Giochiamo dalle 3 alle 5 del pomeriggio al "Finsbury Leisure Centre".
Peter: OK great! We play from 3 to 5pm at the "Finsbury Leisure Centre".
Mary: Va bene! Posso prendere in prestito una racchetta?
Mary: OK got it! Could I borrow a racket from you?
Peter: Certo! Ne abbiamo tante. Ci vediamo allora!
Peter: Sure! We have plenty. See you then!
Mary: A dopo!
Mary: See you!
