Stefan: Oh, non molto bene. Un mese fa hanno diagnosticato il diabete a mio figlio.

Stefan: Oh, not so good. One month ago my son was diagnosed with diabetes.

Oliver: Mi dispiace. Quanti anni ha?

Oliver: Sorry to hear that. How old is he?

Stefan: Ha 12 anni.

Stefan: He is 12.

---

Oliver: Mio cugino ha il diabete. Ma ha più di 40 anni ed è sovrappeso.

Oliver: My cousin has diabetes. But he is over 40 and overweight.

Stefan: Mio figlio ha il diabete di tipo 1. Tuo cugino probabilmente ha il diabete di tipo 2.

Stefan: My son has type 1 diabetes. Your cousin probably has type 2 diabetes.

Oliver: Capisco. E che differenza c'è?

Oliver: Right. And what is the difference?

---

Stefan: Beh, il diabete di tipo 1 non ha niente a che fare con la mancanza di esercizio fisico. È una malattia autoimmune.

Stefan: Well, type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with lack of exercise. It is an autoimmune disease.

Oliver: In pratica è solo sfortuna?

Oliver: So basically just bad luck?

---

Stefan: Sì. In questo momento mi dedico ad aiutare mio figlio a rimettersi.

Stefan: Yes. Right now I'm focusing on helping my son get better.
