The new class
Un giorno un insegnante salutò la sua nuova classe.
One day a teacher was greeting his new class.
Si alzò in piedi davanti alla classe e chiese se ci fossero degli idioti in classe. In caso affermativo, dovevano alzarsi in piedi.
He stood up in front of the class and asked if anyone in the class was an idiot, and if they were, they should stand.
Dopo un minuto un giovane si alzò in piedi.
After a minute a young man stood up.
Il professore allora chiese allo studente se pensava davvero di essere un idiota.
The professor then asked the kid if he actually thought he was an idiot.
Il ragazzo rispose: "No, ma non volevo che lei fosse l'unico ad alzarsi in piedi."
The kid replied: "No, I just didn't want to see you standing there all by yourself"
