A new scam

David: Quello che mi è appena capitato è proprio buffo.
David: So funny what just happened to me.
Dan: Cos'è successo?
Dan: What happened?
David: Ecco, sono andato su Gumtree.com per cercare un appartamento. C'era un appartamento davvero economico in una zona molto centrale. Allora ho mandato un'e-mail al tipo e gli ho chiesto se l'appartamento era ancora disponibile.
David: Well, I went to Gumtree.com to look for a flat. There was a really cheap flat in a very central location available. So I emailed the guy and asked if the flat is still available.
Dan: Scommetto che era un raggiro.
Dan: I bet it was a scam.
David: Sì, esattamente. Mi ha detto che vive all'estero e che deve comprare un biglietto aereo per mostrarmi l'appartamento. Ha detto che aveva sprecato tempo con i precedenti potenziali inquilini e che quindi ha bisogno di un acconto anticipato prima di mostrarmi l'appartamento.
David: Yes exactly. He told me that he lives abroad and needs to buy a plane ticket to show me the flat. He said he had wasted time with previous potential tenants and therefore needs a deposit up front before showing me the flat.
Dan: Ah, già! E voleva l'acconto tramite "Western Union", giusto?
Dan: Yeah right! And he wanted that deposit through "Western Union" right?
David: Esatto! Non puoi riprenderti i soldi se paghi tramite "Western Union".
David: Yep! There's no way to get the money back if you pay through "Western Union".
Dan: Mi domando quante persone sono vittime di questo raggiro.
Dan: I wonder how many people fall for this scam.
