A good deed
Uno scout arrivò a un incontro con mezz'ora di ritardo.
A boy scout was half an hour late for a meeting.
Il suo amico gli chiese: "Perché sei così in ritardo?"
His friend asked: "Why are you so late?"
"Ho aiutato un signore anziano ad attraversare la strada", rispose.
"I was helping an old man cross the street," he answered.
"È una bella cosa", gli rispose l'amico. "Ma mezz'ora di ritardo per quello?"
"That's a nice thing to do," said his friend. "But half an hour late because of that?"
"Ebbene, il problema era che non voleva attraversare", rispose.
"Well, the problem was he didn't want to go," he answered.
