The thrombosis

"Wie war dein Treffen mit Melanie?"

"How did your meeting go with Melanie?"
"Oh, es war nett sie wieder zu sehen."

"Oh, it was nice seeing her again."
"Wie geht es ihr?"

"How is she?"
"Sie hatte anscheinend eine Thrombose."

"Apparently she has had a thrombosis."
"Wirklich? Hört sich gar nicht gut an!"

"Really? Sounds serious!"
"Ja, es kann lebensbedrohlich sein!"

"Yes, it can be life-threatening!"
"Ich wüsste nicht mal die Symptome."

"I wouldn't even know the symptoms."
"Sie wusste die Symptome auch nicht, aber sie las zufälligerweise gerade einen Artikel darüber."

"She didn't know the symptoms either, but coincidentally she was just reading an article about it."
"Was für ein glücklicher Zufall!"

"How lucky!"
"Ja, das hat vielleicht ihr Leben gerettet!"

"Yes, maybe that saved her life!"
"Was sind denn nun die Symptome?"

"So what are the symptoms?"
"Schmerzen in der Wade. Manchmal schwillt sie auch an."

"Pain in the calf. Sometimes it can swell up."
