A visit to the doctor
Ricardo: Hallo. Könnte ich heute einen Termin mit dem Doktor ausmachen?
Ricardo: Hello. Could I make an appointment with the doctor today?
Sprechstundenhilfe: Wie ist Ihr Name?
Receptionist: What is your name?
Ricardo: Mein Name is Ricardo González.
Ricardo: My name is Ricardo González.
Sprechstundenhilfe: Um welches gesundheitliches Problem geht es?
Receptionist: In regard to what health issue?
Ricardo: Ich habe Schmerzen beim Wasserlassen.
Ricardo: There is some pain when I pass water.
Sprechstundenhilfe: Okay, bitte kommen Sie um 17.35.
Receptionist: OK, please come at 5.35pm.
(Ricardo kommt in der Arztpraxis an.)
(Ricardo arrives at the doctor's office.)
Ricardo: Hallo, mein Name ist Ricardo. Ich habe einen Termin um 17.35.
Ricardo: Hello, my name is Ricardo. I've an appointment at 5.35pm.
Sprechstundenhilfe: Okay, der Doktor wird gleich für bereit sein.
Receptionist: OK, the doctor will be ready for you soon.
(Ricardo wartet 10 Minuten und wird dann ins Behandlungszimmer gerufen.)
(Ricardo waits 10 minutes and is called to the doctor's office.)
Doktor: Bitte setzen Sie sich. Wie kann ich Ihnen helfen?
Doctor: Please sit down. How can I help you?
Ricardo: Vor drei Tagen hatte ich etwas Fieber und das Wasserlassen hat wehgetan. Ich dachte es würde besser werden, aber gestern konnte ich nicht schlafen, weil ich Schmerzen in der Leistengegend hatte.
Ricardo: Three days ago I had a bit of fever and passing water was painful. I thought it would get better but yesterday I couldn't sleep because of the pain in my groin area.
Doktor: Ist Blut im Urin?
Doctor: Is there blood in the urine?
Ricardo: Nein, kein Blut.
Ricardo: No, there isn't.
Doktor: Es scheint so, als ob Sie einen Harninfekt haben. Ich verschreibe Ihnen ein Antibiotikum namens Trimethoprim. Nehmen Sie es zweimal am Tag für eine Woche.
Doctor: It seems you have an urinary tract infection. I'll prescribe you this antibiotic called Trimethoprim. Take it twice a day for one week.
Ricardo: Alles klar!
Ricardo: All right!
Doktor: Nehmen Sie das Medikament für eine ganze Woche, auch wenn Sie sich vorher besser fühlen.
Doctor: Make sure to keep taking it for a full week, even if you feel better before that.
Ricardo: Danke Herr Doktor. Auf Wiedersehen!
Ricardo: Thank you doctor. Bye!
Doktor: Auf Wiedersehen.
Doctor: Goodbye.
