Move to the Bermudas
Robert : Salut, Wilma ! Comment vas-tu ? J'ai appris que vous déménagiez aux Bermudes ?
Robert: Hi, Wilma! How are you? I heard you are moving to the Bermudas?
Wilma : Salut, Robert. Oui, c'est vrai.
Wilma: Hi, Robert. Yes, it is true.
Robert : Mais vous venez de vous installer à Londres !
Robert: But you just moved to London!
Wilma : Oui, je sais !
Wilma: Yes, I know!
Robert : Alors, pourquoi les Bermudes ?
Robert: So why the Bermudas?
Wilma : On doit y aller à cause de la compagnie de mon mari.
Wilma: We have to go there because of my husband's company.
Robert : Je vois. Ton mari travaille toujours pour cette compagnie d'assurance ?
Robert: I see. Your husband still works in that insurance company?
Wilma : Oui.
Wilma: Yes.
Robert : Es-tu déjà allée aux Bermudes ?
Robert: Have you been to the Bermudas before?
Wilma : Oui. C'est vraiment très beau.
Wilma: Yes. It is very beautiful there.
Robert : J'imagine. Mais une si petite île devient sans doute ennuyeuse au bout d'un moment.
Robert: I can imagine. But such a small island probably gets boring after a while.
Wilma : Peut-être, oui. Mais je ne crois pas qu'on puisse rester plus de 2 ou 3 ans de toute façon.
Wilma: Maybe, yes. But I don't think we are allowed to stay more than 2 or 3 years anyway.
Robert : Les Bermudes sont un paradis fiscal, pas vrai ? J'imagine que la compagnie de ton mari veut payer moins d'impôts.
Robert: The Bermudas are a tax haven right? I guess your husband's company wants to save taxes.
Wilma : Il semblerait, oui.
Wilma: It seems so yes.
Robert : Aucune grosse compagnie ne veut payer d'impôts ici. Pas étonnant que notre pays soit aussi endetté !
Robert: None of the big companies want to pay taxes here. No wonder our country is so indebted!
Wilma : Oui, malheureusement ! Je dois partir. Rendez-vous chez le dentiste !
Wilma: Yes, unfortunately! I have to go now. Dentist appointment!
Robert : D'accord, salut ! Passe le bonjour à ton mari !
Robert: Okay, bye! Say hello to your husband!
Wilma : D'accord ! Salut !
Wilma: I will! Bye!
